Intention

Intention

Intention is like water. It flows to the lowest point unless directed elsewhere yet it can be very powerful when narrowed in with sustained attention.

Just as water yields to form, intention leads to practice and whatever we practice, we get good at. Some folks practice blame, shame and regret. Others practice forgiveness, compassion and discernment. The bulk of us fall somewhere in between.

In positively placing our intention, we set change in motion that can affect our well-being. Pema Chödrön captured this when she said, “Whatever our quality is, that’s our wealth and our beauty. That’s what other people respond to.”

There is great power in intention. Use it wisely and use it well and watch your inner garden grow.
