Accelerated Experiential-Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP)
Accelerated Experiential-Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) is a transformation-based, healing-oriented model of psychotherapy. It has roots in many disciplines, amongst them attachment theory, affective neuroscience, and somatic pychology. In AEDP, the aim is to foster the emergence of new and healing experiences through the in-depth processing of difficult emotional and relational experiences.
Intense emotional experience and suffering are part and parcel of being alive. They are also—if properly regulated—the pathways to resources and resilience. The belief is that lodged deeply in our brains and bodies lie innate, wired-in dispositions for healing and self-righting that are released by experiencing this feelings with an affirming, emotionally engaged other.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Internal Family Systems is a unique approach that can quickly and effectively helps to identify intrapsychic patterns. We humans are complicated beings. Seeing ourselves through the lens of mulitplicity we hold compassion for all parts of ourselves to emerge, while releasing old negative beliefs and behaviors.
IFS recognizes that each one of us has an inner core Self that is wise, peaceful, and compassionate. Mindfully contacting this true Self, we are able to bring more of these qualities into our every day life and your relationships with others. The result is more harmony in your “internal family,” which brings more fulfillment to your outer life.
