Because of the speed and fluidity of this process, we don’t usually attend to the ways in which this inner community conducts its business. We may notice thoughts running through our heads without recognizing that they emerge from a range of recurrent conversations we carry on with ourselves.

It’s easy to have a poor “self-concept” if when one goes inside one sees only these wild and warring tribal members. Many of us have had experiences in which we learned not to trust our selves.  As a result, we can lose touch with our innate resources.  Sitting with our emotions, thoughts and feelings with compassion and understanding is the necessary journey to reclaiming all parts of ourselves.
