Mindful Awareness

Mindful Awareness

Moments of mindfulness invite balance into our busy lives. Quite moments may seem indulgent, boring or even impossible. But that’s just the busy mind trying to distract you. Taking time to recalibrate is critical for personal growth and you only need a few minutes for it to be effective.

When we regularly cultivate inner grounding, we set ourselves up for greater resiliency. One of the best ways to do this is through ritual. The key to success is simplicity and repetition. Have a variety of ways to slow down and then pick one to practice. It could be something you already do each day. The change is in the intention.

Mornings are a great time to practice moments of quiet. You can set the tone of the whole day by simply doing your thing with mindful awareness. Here are a few ideas to get you started:

  • Drink your morning tea in front of the same window each day and notice the seasonal changes.
  • Take a walk around the neighborhood, leaving all electronics at home.
  • Light a candle and sit quietly. Set a timer and follow your breath.
  • Journal in a free flow style. Set the timer and keep the pen moving.

These are just a few simple ways to delve deeper into the quiet. Invite more peace and calm in your life by making mindfulness a part of your daily routine.
